No God Modding
God modding is making sure that your character is invincible and can't die or get hit. This is unfair. Don't do it.

No Auto Hits
Auto Hitting is where you say things like "_____ stabbed ______ in the heart" or "____ tripped _____ and then knocked him unconscious". This is also unfair. Don't do it either.

Be Realistic
In real life or any world, you can't be in two places at once!

Be Fair
It's a basic and important rule, especially in battles. Don't just make it easy for yourself going "______ killed ______!" That is unfair to the other competitor, and that could get you a warning (or WORSE). Give him a chance to escape or something of the like. "______ threw 3 kunai knives aimed directly at _______'s head" and then "_________ dodges it with a jutsu". Now that's fair. However, don't make it easy for the other person, either. Obviously if he/she's very skilled yes you would lose, but you wouldn't lose to a 3 year old would you?

Be Nice To One Another
Even more basic than being fair: don't flame in battles or whine. That won't help you, and don't do that in missions either. Use teamwork and think creatively! That's the key to success!
